We were at "The African Fundraiser” being held at the Crooked Cue (Etobicoke) (3056 Bloor St. West – ½ a block west of the Royal York subway on the north side of Bloor) on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 beginning at 6:30 pm
The Canadian and African Business Women's Alliance (CAABWA) (www.caabwa.com) is hosting this fundraiser to raise $10,000 to enable women-led social enterprises from countries suffering from civil war or strife (e.g. Syria and Niger) to attend the global trade expo -trade +impact (www.tradeandimpact.com) in Morocco in September so buyers from North America and Europe can access the products (crafts, textiles and natural skincare products) from these amazing social enterprises and so these social enterprises can learn from each other.
This fun-filled evening at the Crooked Cue will include: Food, Cash Bar, Free non-alcoholic drinks, Raffle for prizes, Silent Auction featuring events and high-end African and Middle Eastern products made by women-led social enterprises, Live Auction of Fall Weekends at a Luxury Fractional Ownership Property on Lake Joseph in Muskoka, Luxury African products for sale, an African Fashion Show, Music, Billiards, and Ping Pong.
Tickets: $30 which can be purchased at the door or in advance through our Eventbrite link: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/caabwas-african-fundraiser-tickets-25707955186
Visa and cash accepted for both tickets at the door and for all purchases.
Just so you know, CAABWA is a non-for-profit organization I established with groups of interested women from Africa and Canada in 2000 to help support the growth and development of African women-led businesses and social enterprises.
